The F.A subjects and marks details is an important detail to be noted by students who are planning on sitting for the examination of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA). The university has released its policy which states that candidates must take at least three out of five core courses in order to be eligible for admission into any programme.

There is a long list of subjects of F.A but you may select those subjects according to your board and college. Because some colleges have limited faculty and you have to choose limited subjects according to your college or board.

Subjects of F.A:

There are only 6 subjects in F.A part 1 and F.A (part 2). You need to select any 3 subjects from elective subjects. You need to select 3 compulsory subjects from the given 3 subjects.

Compulsory Subjects of F.A (part 1):

English, Urdu, and Islamic Education are the compulsory subjects. English book 1 and Book 3 are included in part 1 while English Book 2 is included in Part 2. Non-Muslim students can choose Ethics instead of Islamic Education.

Elective Subjects of F.A (part 1):

If you are doing F.A privately then you can choose subjects according to your own choice. But if you are doing F. A from college then you need to follow subject selection policy of the college.

The passing percentage is 33%.

Part 2:

English 100 marks
Urdu 100 marks
Pakistan Studies 50 marks

Each Elective Subject has 100 marks.
3 elective subjects = 300 marks

Total marks of F.A part 2 = 300 marks.

The passing percentage is 33%.

Total marks of F.A (part 1 and part 1)= 1100 marks

A grade = 770 marks or 70%
A+ grade= 880 marks or 80%

Sometimes F.A students face problems after the selection of subjects. Because they select those subjects having an exam at same time and date. So there F. A students need to select subjects wisely.

Careers opportunities after F.A:

1- Charted Accountancy:

After completing the F.A student can get admission in C.A. Most students don’t know about this opportunity. Because of C.A offering colleges only prefer intermediate they don’t focus on FSC or ICS. They only need intermediate pass students.

2- LLB:

Law is also a dream field of many students. As you know that according to the new policy of HEC now students can get admission in LLB after intermediate. But if you want to get admission in LLB then you need to pass the Law Admission Test. If you are willing to get admission in LLB then start F.A. Because F.A subjects are very easy and you can get more marks in F.A. If you got more marks then your admission will be confirmed in government university on merit.

3- B.A or Associate Degree in Arts:

After completion of F.A, you can get admission in B.A. Associate Degree in Arts is the new name of B.A. It is two years degree. After completing this degree you can appear in CSS.

4- Psychologist:

If you want to be a psychologist then F. A is a good option for you. After F.A you can get admission in BS Psychology. BS Psychology is 4 years degree and after completion of this degree, you will be a psychologist. A psychologist has good scope in Pakistan.

5- Journalist:

If you want to be a journalist and you want to work in TV channels and newspaper agencies then BS mass communication and BS media studies are the best option after F.A.

6- Banker:

Everyone wants to do an easy and reliable job. As you know the job of banks is easy and reliable. If you want to be a banker then do F. A and get admission in B.Com.

Disadvantages of subject selection:

After selecting subjects of F.A randomly maybe the paper of some subjects will be at the same date or time. Then there will be problems for students. So be careful while selecting the subjects.
